Calcium L-Threonate is the salt of L-Threonic acid, a naturally occurring compound that can be found in the leaves of Pelargonium crispum. L-Threonic acid is also the degradation product of Dehydroascorbate (DHA), a metabolite of Vitamin C (A786990).
It can be used as a nutritional enhancer and calcium supplement, and can be used as a medical and health product, as well as a food additive.
Description:
Calcium L-Threonate is a white particle, almost odorless and tasteless, soluble in water, easily soluble in hot water, insoluble in alcohol, ether, and chloroform. Melting point above 330 (decomposition), good acid and alkaline resistance, strong thermal stability. 120 is heated for 20 minutes or 200 is heated for 10 minutes without any changes. L-threonic acid is widely present in plants, human stomach acid, and uric acid. It is a degradation product of L-ascorbic acid.
