Applications of DMDS:
1. DMDS is used as solvent and pesticide intermediate for Methyl sulfonyl chloride (MSC) and methyl sulfonic acid (MSA);
2. In the petroleum refining industry, DMDS is used in oil refineries as a sulfiding agent, widely used in naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, diesel and atmospheric pressure heavy oil hydrodesulfurization, hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalyst pre-vulcanization process activator;
3. DMDS is also an effective soil fumigant in agriculture, registered in many states in the U.S. as well as globally;
4. Dimethyl Disulfide (DMDS) is also used as a flavor and fragrance intermediate, which enriches the aroma and flavor of certain consumer products.
